Besides being ideally placed with offices in Poole and New Milton to provide services to the marine sector on the South Coast, Princecroft Willis have the capability to provide responsive, proactive and informative advice, guidance and assistance on a national level and, as part of the CCW International network, worldwide.

The Princecroft Willis Marine Team is led by Martin Aldridge, former world champion wind surfer who has over 20 years’ experience working in the marine sector; Martin works closely with the RYA, in particular providing advice and guidance to the Team GB Olympic squad.

Princecroft Willis are proud and excited to be a technical supplier to Ben Ainslie Racing and have the opportunity to support the team in their bid to bring the America’s Cup home to Cowes, where it all began 163 years ago.

We are proud to have the opportunity to be involved with the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation. The charity, set up in 2013 to honour the life and legacy of Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson MBE, Olympic Gold & Silver medallist and America’s Cup Sailor, was founded by Sir Ben Ainslie CBE, Iain Percy OBE and Andrew’s wife Leah.

Our VAT and Indirect Tax team, headed up by former HMC&E officer, Simon Anslow, is in an almost unique position of enjoying a valued working relationship with HMRC’s Marine & Pleasurecraft Teams and being acknowledged advisers to those in the marine sector, as well as providing the VAT & Indirect Tax advice helpline service for British Marine.

Experience has shown that within the marine sector the amount of tax payable, where, when and by whom, gives rise to particular difficulties; equally, the issues of employment, staff, crew, residency and jurisdiction regularly feature.

In Julian Smith, Tax Director, and John Caithness, Head of Employment Tax Services, we have our own in-house specialists who can not only identify the problems, but can provide the solutions.

We can provide advice, guidance and assistance across a wide scope of activities and issues, including:

  • Yacht purchase, planning and structures
  • Marine Fuel Duty claims
  • HMRC disputes
  • VAT Paid Status
  • Place of Supply and the complex rules

Our specialist team operates across the whole spectrum of marine and related activities, acting for clients who are boat-builders, brokers, yacht-management, Olympic gold medal winners, boat owners, charter companies and trade representative bodies...

A team of specialists and enthusiasts, who know and understand the marine world, with the knowledge and skills to make your life plain sailing.
